Talk The Vote – Minnesota!

Posted by imfreenow on October 30, 2008

We can win! This event last night told us that we are still within striking distance and that we must not give up! It was a beautiful night in a purple state where the purple bled only into red! See more about it here.

It was The Three Tenors of conservative talk radio: Hugh hewitt, Michael Medved and Dennis Prager. James Lileks opened the evening talking about how much hope there is. Hugh Hewitt was next, followed by a host of candidates including Norm Coleman, Michele Bachmann, Barb Davis White and Erik Paulsen. Michael Medved was next, followed by Prager, who brought governor Tim Pawlenty with him.

It was a great night and we all went away feeling great hope, pride and were reinforced in our values.

Oh Well!

Posted by imfreenow on October 28, 2008

I thought that sleep was returning, but last night I had a freak night where I had to take out the old medication again and this morning was terrible – all groggy from too much meds.

But I’m in process. The Holy Spirit is revealing the condition of my deepest heart, which though it has been hurt in the past, just isn’t right yet. The things that God is revealing are so heavy that I feel overwhelmed and feel that until this time of change is over, I need to use medication to cope.

It’s as if the Holy Spirit is forcing my heart to total honesty, and bringing out nastiness that is very unpleasant to experience – reactions that I don’t want to have but can’t help.

It all comes from years of seeking love in “all the wrong places” while not seeing that God is the source, and following after idols. And now the trick is to get the love of God to go in and heal the soul.

But the question is this – have you ever asked this question? Where do I go to get God’s love?

Obama in 2001 – Redistribution of Wealth

It’s working! (2)

Posted by imfreenow on October 26, 2008

My communion taking and repenting – it’s having an effect. My sleep is returning, even while we’re all still worried about the elections, I have peace enough to sleep, although I have been waking in the night, thinking about things like, “what if Sharia law is forced on us because Obama ushers in the acceptance of Islam?” things like that, but then I go back to sleep. Whatever mania was setting in has stopped. I’m back on low doses of medication – just 50 mg of Topamax and 1.5 mg of Risperdal.

With cleansing in my soul from unforgiveness and bitterness, there’s no telling the ultimate effect it will have. I expect to have more energy, and maybe go off medication altogether. Reading a chapter a day of the New Testament to my dad has sure helped a lot.

I just found this video on Livingsword’s blog. He is a Canadian who did a post that reveals his love for the U.S. – and you must read it! He also put some videos on there about Obama and McCain that are really funny, including this one.

Please pray for Josie and Jonathan

Posted by imfreenow on October 24, 2008

Josie is my cousin’s wife, and just found out that her heart is diseased. Bless her “heart”, she says she is open to God’s healing and will go to the elders of her church to have hands laid on her. The disease is so serious it may require a pacemaker or even a transplant. Please stand with her for her healing. She is a dear who has had six, adorable children and raised them to fear and love God. Her oldest son is doing a 9 month mission trip in Ecuador, her second oldest, her daughter, is doing a three month mission trip in Ghana, and her third oldest does political stuff. One of her sons is a marine. Her life would be cut short and that would be a tragedy for her children. My mom is 82 and I know how much it means to have your mother for the full length of her life.

Jonathan is Andrew’s younger brother. He has shown signs of being slightly schizophrenic, and Andrew is the one influence in his life that “brings him out” of his isolation. Now Andrew is going clear across the world and Jonathan is left without Andrew. The thing is, Jonathan needs to move on with his life too, but it’s at a standstill because of mental illness. A good, new friend would be a wonderful thing.

Andrew’s Marriage to Liz

Posted by imfreenow on October 23, 2008

Here you can get a look at Andrew, my nephew’s wife (Elizabeth.) I told him that his Grandpa, my dad has been praying for him every day, and he said that was a good thing, a natural response for a Christian, but when I told Liz I would be praying for her she sort of cringed. Ugh! I’ve been thinking a lot about this marriage. Andrew’s friend said something about how he never found American girls to be funny, so he had to “import” his bride. We never once thought she was funny. She’s never said anything funny. She’s very quiet. So, I suppose he’d say we just don’t know her. That’s why this is so creepy. He’s been mesmerized by someone we hardly know, and she’s taking him away from us, clear across the world to Australia. He seems to have been lured away from Christ, and it’s all very disturbing. All we can do is pray for him.

I said "sorry" to Penny

Posted by imfreenow on October 22, 2008

Dear Penny,

Hi. I am in Beth Moore’s study “Breaking Free” and in one chapter, she confirms what you said about prejudice – she says it is more prevalent in the church! Just what should not be, as I think it is the church that moved forward and was the impetus to end slavery, etc.

I think it means there is an abundance of hypocrites, because the believers who are in a deeper relationship with God are not prejudiced. Regardless, this is a shocker!

She said that she has been through abuse in her past (rape?), and that it helped to have people come up and just say to her, “I am so sorry this happened to you.” She said we should do that with people, and got into talking about how white people have come to a place, being in the third and fourth generations since slavery, where the need has come to deal with the wounds that black people still have from the past. We have inherited that responsibility even if our ancestors were poor too and were not slave owners. I have thought of that before, but with her admonition, I thought of saying some things to you.

I just want you to know that I am sorry for the degrading beginnings for black people in America. I am sorry for the slavery. I am sorry for the abuse, and the slander, the murder and the terror.

I am sorry for any pain that you have endured as a black person because of unkind attitudes, behavior or words of white people who ‘had it in for you’ because you are black.

If there are wounds left because of your journey in America as a black person, I pray that those wounds will be fully healed and that you will find the power to forgive and receive from Jesus all the grace and love you need in life, to live the life you desire.

I pray that I can do my part to mend the breach and heal the wounds.

In Christ’s love,

Penny wrote back:

That is really sweet. I don’t hold any white person accountable for the sins of their fathers and I hope no one holds me accountable for anything my ancestors may have done. But it means a lot that you would be caring enough to say that. As a result of slavery I am probaly as much white as I am black, native american, african, and everything else. So for a black person to be predjudiced is ignorant anyway as they woud have to hate themselves. If we are all descendants of Adam & Eve then we are brothers…all of us with inherited sin. I had my DBA done by National geographic for teh Genome project where they trace your deeo ancestry and it came us as heplagroup “W” which is rare. Its Eurasian, which I had never heard of. I am a descendant fo one of the orginal founder lines of the Ashkenazi Jews (non european) which can be narrowed down to one of 4 women. (That blew my mind). There are a lot of people groups in my mix. I joined a website for my heplagroup and most are European and all have a lot of my genetic markers but one woman matches me almost completely as we have all the same markers almost and she is in the Netherlands. She is a naturakl blond with blue eyes but has natural dark olive skin. (unusual for a blond). So I am just a mutt 🙂 and and I embrace all of the people groups in and out of my direct lineage.
I am deeply disturbed by racism in the church, and think we shoudl all reach out more to people who don’t look like us. Tha’s why I love V.O.M.
There are white people who suffered and were persecuted because they stood up and helped slaves and many of their stories are hidden under all the bad things. A true black history month would include them also. Many were secretely helping in the underground railroad and are annomyous.

I like Beth Moore but have not yet taken a course of hers….though my church has had several (at times/dates I was working). I love Kay Authur and have gone to tenn for a weeks class at her center in Chattanooga. Because I have no immediate family and my mom died when I was 11 God has always put strong women in my path. Some were strangers who had a profound impact. I paid about $400 for the Precepts class at Kay Arthurs institute…that included class for a week, room and board and 3 meals a day. (3 glorious meals 🙂 It was a nice time.

I really like you Gabrielle…. (but I still like Joe Biden better than Sarah Palin:-) I actually like McCain (just not for president). I think he is quite a different man from what the Republican party has made him promote himself as in this election. I just don’t see any benefit or hope for the poor, or middle class with that ticket. I did vote for Bush last election (only due to the Live Birth bill and the fact that he is the only one who publicly professed Jesus Christ. I don’t liek either Democratic or Republican party to be honest as neither are Christian, and both self serving. Hillary was just as nasty as McCain in bringing out the worst racism in her campaign and in promoting fear. I am changing my party to independant. I have no faith in any politician. I did not want you to think that I loved you any less just because we look at see some things differently. I lost $25,000 from my 401k so far (in 2 weeks)…but after seeing the suffering all over in the underground church I am not fretting over it as God is my refuge and shelter so whatever comes…comes.

I just arrived at work. I did a V.O.M. presentation at a small church in Queens Sunday night. It was such a Spirit filled little church. I loved it. I am going to speak at a Spanish Pentecostal Church on the 19th so pray for that event.

One minute each night

Posted by imfreenow on October 21, 2008

This is an email sent to me.
This is the scariest election we as Christians have ever faced and from
looks of the polls, the Christians aren’t
voting Christian values. We all need to be on our knees.

Do you believe we can take God at His word? 2 Chronicles 7:14 says: If
people who are called by My name will humble
themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,

then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive
their sin and will heal their land.’

During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of

people who dropped what they were doing every
night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the
safety of England, its people and peace.
This had an amazing effect – as bombing stopped. There is now a group
people organizing the same thing here in
America. The United States of America and our citizens need prayer more

than ever!!!

If you would like to participate:
Each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central, 7:00 PM
6:00 PM Pacific, 3:00PM Hawaiian time), stop
whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of
United States, our troops, our citizens, for
peace in the world, the up-coming election, and that the Bible will
be the basis for the laws governing our land
and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.

If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this
Someone said if people really understood the
full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be
speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful
asset we have.

He Said ‘Bind Up the Brokenhearted’

Posted by imfreenow on October 20, 2008

In my quest for deliverance from an unforgiving heart, God has shown me something. he has shown me that he did not come to condemn the unforgiving, but to bind up the brokenhearted. That’s what it says in Isaiah 61, the passage that Jesus read when he started his ministry. So, when we see an unforgiving heart, we are not to condemn them for not forgiving but to look beyond to the hurt that causes them to find it hard to forgive. God has said to me, “you have been hurt,” in my effort to understand why I find more bitterness in me.

This is by no means an excuse for not forgiving. I want to, need to forgive. But I am powerless to truly be cleansed, and look to Jesus and his blood to cleanse me.

I can’t forget what a lady at the Toronto church told me. She said that no one can love or minister except through the lover. Children are born because the bride spends time with her lover in the bedroom, being made love to by her lover. So it is with us and God. We must be loved by God before we can love. That is the problem I have been having. I am not in a place where revival is happening, where people know revival power and where I can soak up the power of God, so I can drink in His love. So, I languish for want of His love.

I do the best I can with reading His word and being in His presence in my home, and taking communion for my sins.

Beth Moore on Prejudice

Posted by imfreenow on October 20, 2008

I’m in her study on Breaking Free and we came to the chapter dealing with Prejudice. She says that the church has more prejudice than anywhere else, just what Penny said. Ugh! I don’t know why. It’s one of those things that should not be, but is.

Beth Moore said that she has had abuse in her past and it helped when people came up to her and said they were so sorry for what happened in her past. She suggested that we do the same for people who have been wronged, such as black people. Since the ‘sins of the fathers are visited on the third and fourth generations,’ it could be that the sins of the slave owners have come down to us, collectively, since many of us don’t have slave owners in our family tree, but collectively as white people. And because of this problem, we may have reaped in the form of Obama, someone who has problems with race and could start a race war in the U.S.

One thing we could do is try to let black people, such as Penny, know that we are sorry for the wrongs that they have experienced as black people. I don’t know what good it will do, but we can try. I am going to try.
